Conference Weekend

So you must all be wondering how Clint's baptism went. To put it simply, it didn't happen - yet. After his interview with President Larkin, they both determined that it would be best to wait another week so he can work on his Word of Wisdom problems. So now his baptism will take place this Saturday. It actually works out quite perfectly. His next court date isn't until the week after so he will have the Holy Ghost for whatever legal matters come his way. Other than that, we had kind of a slow week with not much to report.

I did another exchange last Wednesday. I went to an area, which gets around using buses. It was really quite fun moving around using public transportation. I truly felt like a missionary!

The highlight of the week had to be conference. It is always good to be spiritually fed by prophets and apostles. This year I noticed a couple of themes, including marriage, tithing, temples, service, welfare, and preparing for tough times ahead. As we live the gospel and keep our covenants, we will be able to get through any trial that comes our way. The priesthood session was especially good. I can't wait to re-read the words of the living prophets of God in the Ensign next month.

This week we got a new investigator. He is the foreign-exchange room mate of someone in our ward. He is from China and is very interested in Christianity and that the LDS Church has a prophet on Earth once again. He has no belief in Christ, but he wants to learn more. It will certainly be interesting teaching someone without a sure knowledge of God or Jesus Christ.

Well, things here are slowly but surely going along. Hopefully the baptism goes through this weekend. The Church is true!
