On the road again...

So by now I have left for California for Choir Tour (Yes, this was automatically posted, written yesterday). I really can't wait for all the new adventures I will have. As I remember from last year, the bus ride was long, but fun. See you soon!

Might I say POINTLESS?

So I just got some new REEF flip flops for my upcoming tour with patented (seriously) "REEF Thirst Quenching Technology" on the bottom of the shoe. What is it, might you ask? None other than a bottle opener for those late-night crazy parties on the beach!

These sandals seem to be popular as most of the flip flops sold at the store have this "Thirst Quenching Technology."

UP, UP, and AWAY!

Can I tell you how funny this movie looks?

Enjoy a new clip!

CONGRATULATIONS ELIZABETH!

Djakarta, Indonesia Mission.
You will be a great missionary!

Geronimo Jackson

It is still as good as it was back in 1977, listening to it in the underground Swan Station. A song that any Dharma Initiative employee would know has finally been rediscovered for our generation. Yes, this groovy gem has finally been unearthed! It makes me remember the good old days on the island. Now, if they could only revive the infamous 90's band, Drive Shaft, headed by the now diseased Charlie Pace...

Enjoy Geranimo Jackson's song Dharma Lady!

What to post about?

Sorry I missed yesterday, I had nothing to write. It feels as if the well has run dry for now, at least for big posts. First of all, Laura, I am so excited for Saturday. I think that we are going to have a lot of fun! Second of all, I love my friends! This year I have become friends/become better friends with some of the most amazing people in the world! And to my long-time friends, thanks for always being there for me! Last, but certainly not least, my LOST and The Office friends, Alex and Olivia, I couldn't do without our weekly get-togethers. Wednesday and Thursday nights literally get me through school, and surviving through the end of my senior year. What will we do next year when we will be away? I suppose I will be here in the spring, but we will still be missing you, Olivia. We can always wait until the DVD...

I love you all, and hope you are all doing well!

*Thanks EMILY for finding my blog and being my friend in CHEMISTRY!*

CALIFORNIA

Every time I hear Phantom Planet sing "CALIFORNIA, HERE WE COME," I can't help but get excited for choir tour. Seriously, I am psyched! I can't wait to make new memories and get to know my friends better. I can't wait to go to Disneyland, my favorite thing to do in California. I had such a good time on tour last year, here are some memorable things of tour 2008:
  • On the way there, we stopped in Cedar City. The McDonalds was seriously amazing. They had plasma tvs in the bathrooms!
  • The bus ride was fun, but long. It was a relief to get off and sleep in the hotel.
  • Getting up the morning we were going to Disneyland was fun. The excitement was killing me. (On a related note, one spring break in California, I woke my cousin up in the middle of the night, sleep talking, asking him if we were going to Disneyland the next day. We in fact were!)
  • Disneyland is really the happiest place on earth. As we were in line for Space Mountain, Haval ran into a pole. That was the funniest moment there.
  • Wanting to get out of California Adventure...One friend wanted to stay there the entire day.
  • Grace loosing her phone. That is a story for a different day. Let me tell you, it was traumatic.
  • Getting soaked on Splash Mountain!
  • Fantasy Land! Where dreams truly come true!
  • By the end of the day, I was ready to leave. It was one of the longest days of my life.
  • Wicked, the musical. AMAZING!
  • St. Edmunds. The chapel was beautiful and it was interesting to see how others worship on Sunday.
  • Belnap...She fell down the stairs on the bus as it was stopping. What more can I say? There is a lot.
  • Someone bringing Bagels into the Sunday night performance to keep to his eating schedule.
  • The beach and Balboa Bars!
  • Las Vegas was scary. We stayed in a creepy hotel. It was fun because my roomates and I ordered pizza!
  • The roller coaster at the NEW YORK, NEW YORK!
  • Coming home was sad, but I was ready to come home. It was snowing!

Too small?

I hate how my first Apple-related post is negative. If you know me, I have always been a huge fan of Apple products. Apple recently introduced a new iPod shuffle and seriously, I HATE it! It is smaller (the size of an AAA battery), has a voice that tells you which song you are listening, and has 4 gigs, which is good. But the biggest downfall is its lack of buttons on the actual player. Because three buttons are on the earbuds, Apple forces you to use their earbuds which, to the casual user, might sound ok, but many people prefer other brands.
Apple is known for their simplicity of their designs. On the outside, this new Shuffle may look more simple, but no one wants to press the center button multiple times just to switch the song, as seen HERE. Apple, users want to easily controll their music. You had it right on the first and second generation Shuffles. Without the iconic Apple buttons on the front of the player, this new shuffle looks like a cheap knock-off that you would get from china. The new Shuffle, put simply, is ugly.
What do you think about this new iPod shuffle? Would you buy one? I definitely wouldn't.

Name Cards

Recently in Concert Choir, we got new seats. Each seat had a name card, telling all the men where to sit. At the end of the period, after my sectionals in another room and the girls sitting where the men sit, singing with Belnap, I found my name card doodled upon by Laura. The next choir day, I found a new name card and by the end of the period, it was also doodled upon. Thanks Laura!

Car Crashes

On my way home from work, I saw 2 car crashes. When I came upon the first, glass was shattered, strewn across the street. Cars were backed up, only down to one lane. The car itself, had little damage, except for the broken windows. The second crash I actually witnessed. I was headed up fourth south, going up the hill to the U, when I saw it; a van was changing lanes and didn't see the Accord behind him. The van pushed the car onto the tracks. If this crash had happened a minute later, the car on the tracks would have been hit by an oncoming TRAX car. Scary!

My NEW favorite song!

I have always hated Dolly Parton, until now. On Saturday night, Logan put in one of his two (seriously) cd's into his car. Alyssa and I kept on making fun of his cd which his mom gave him, when this jem came on. Dolly Parton's 9 to 5. We rocked out, dancing and singing along to this catchy tune, putting it on repeat all the way home!

Birds

When I came home from church today, I got a call from my neighbors, telling me to come see this bird in front of their house. I did so and to my surprise, this is what I found! It was all puffed up from nervousness and was walking on the ground, head moving back and forth. It was bigger than a quail and I had no idea which kind it was. I showed my parents. My dad called my uncle, an expert on birds, asking him what kind it was. My uncle told him it is a Chukar. He said it was probably lost, as they aren't usually alone and that it is not supposed to be in our area. Sadly, as I was taking pictures of it, a cat scared it away. It finally flew off into the distance.

Snuggie time!

So I realize that I haven't really posted a real blog in a long time so here it goes. On Valentine's day I was awoken at about 10 by Olivia and Emily who told me that they had a present for me. I then proceed to open it and to my surprise, it was a Snuggie, a blanket with sleeves! Thank You! But my dream of owning one of these treasures did not begin at that moment. Months before, I had seen the commercial with Emily at her house. We laughed and laughed, watching it over and over again. We joked about it ever since.

My sister and I were watching O live and the Snuggie man was on. He told O that it was not an original ideaa, but the way that they marketed it was, with the funny commercial and great price. How much money has his company made? 65 Million dollars! Wow!

I love my Snuggie. It is truly made with love. The Snuggie is so warm and soft that I wear it around my house all the time. You should get one too and become part of "The Cult Of Snuggie"!

My favorite commercial:

Keeping Up with UP?

Nine movies, nine hits, who am I talking about? Pixar of course! With 10 Academy Awards and several Oscars, Pixar can do no bad. When I watched this, I seriously laughed out loud. I especially liked the dog and giant bird. This looks like another great one from Pixar. Can Pixar do it again with their latest movie UP? You be the judge. Below is the new trailer:

Harry Potter Trailer

Every time Warner Brothers comes out with a new trailer, the suspense and excitement for this film builds. By the looks of this trailer, this is going to be a great film. It looks action-packed and filled with the characters we have grown to love. Enjoy the new trailer:
